The massive sculpture by David Smith (this is just a small detail) is made of stainless steel. The sculpture created a mottled surface with what the Met Museum calls "burnished scribbles". The piece has a polished stainless surface - I have added the purple to bring out the scribble detail.

A canal lined with lampposts that have round tops on back poles and leafless trees. There are dramatic clouds in the sky. The water is largely drained and dirty piles of ice and snow are along the right. A couple is running along the path to the left.

The last desperate bits of ice in the Rideau Canal in Ottawa when it was transforming from a gigantic "skateway" back into a waterway. (Leica M Monochrome, 75mm f1.4 Summilux)

Mount Rainier rises above the far shoreline beyond calm water, with soft pink evening alpenglow lighting the snow-covered upper slopes. Layers of lavender and gray clouds stretch across the sky, while dark trees and scattered waterfront homes form a deep blue band below the mountain. The smooth water in the foreground reflects the cool tones of the scene with a faint hint of pink. The photo feels calm, quiet, and gently luminous.

While I was at the Lake Washington this week, Mount Rainier caught my eye in this beautiful evening light. The pastel sky and quiet reflection gave the whole scene a peaceful feel.
