Working on putting together skill trees! I got the algorithm for dynamically drawing the connections working, so the rest is just designing the layouts.

In Godot 4.6, you can rotate sprites as you place them in a tile map! The rotation buttons near tile selection (or their associated hot keys) are ways to do this internal to Godot without needing to import pre-rotated sprites.

bobross_reincarnate's depiction of a Worfle Horse, a Waffle House in the far future as described in A Starstruck Odyssey, a TTRPG actual play on Dropout.tv. It features a brick building with large glass windows floating on an asteroid in space with a giant yellow sign proclaiming "Worfle Horse" above it. In the background is the Martini Nebula, filled with stars and green, purple, and blue gases.
This immediately reminded me of a scene from D20's sci-fi Starstruck Odyssey: "Hi there! Welcome to Worfle Horse. What can I getcha?"

Godot can bake navigation meshes in both 2D and 3D! Baking can be multithreaded, and the meshes handle physics bodies, tilemaps, and even other mesh instances -- allowing for complex scenes that NPCs can traverse.

A woman riding a gallimimus races through a misty hillside alongside a fellow hunter. She wears a long white robe that billows out, supplemented with leathers and feather trims. Soft clouds sweep overhead.
An illustration of an adventuring party trying to pull their horse from a frozen lake. The human knight attempts to push the horse out, while the elven ranger tries to soothe it. The dwarven wizard tries to pull with magic. Light shines on them in the dark night, highlighting flakes of falling snow.

I'm Rowan, a trans non-binary illustrator based in the US but originally from the UK. (the times have been /interesting/)
I'm open to commissions from anyone looking for art and can be supported over on kofi. My current goal is to work for MtG one day!
If you find your GDScript code in need of organization, you can use code regions to collapse sections of it! Use #region NAME above the block and then put #endregion at the end of the block to conveniently help focus it down.

I talked about putting ad-hoc plugins in Godot scenes before, but now I'm spreading my tricks into @gdquest.bsky.social projects π
This is a custom toolbar added by the edited scene, and removed when the scene is also removed. Exposes a number of controls for quick previewing of STUFF!

Yeah! They donβt look as deep as those, but works well enough for a phone. Pretty convenient for Funderwear!
This is why I like my PUMP ones -- the pocket is so convenient!
Oh no, please let me know if you need anything!
What! Are you okay?
This is excellent and I will be using it

A screenshot of an interactive audio stream and the setup for a set of clips transitioning between them.
One cool thing in Godot is the dynamic audio system: AudioStreamInteractive can be used to combine clips together, play them in a given order, and programmatically react to events in the game world with transitions!

Yeah, the sitcom comparison feels pretty apt! Elements of their relationship felt like they regressed from the previous game, just to string together a story for the sake of suspense. What I wrote up was a little broader than just the story, but here you go: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
Iβm glad Iβm not alone! I wrote up some detailed thoughts on GoW:R, comparing it to its predecessor; story-wise, a lot of it fell into the trope of poor communication being the source of interpersonal tension. But big props to Debra Wilson for VAing Gryla -- what a performance!

It's Fractal Friday! This is the second in my Leyline Lands series inspired by Magic: The Gathering. I've been steadily working on this series for the past couple months and can't wait to share the rest.

I made an addon for you.
Shader Line Previewer: A real-time variable inspector for Godot.
Made a Godot addon which enforces consistent, project-wide preview lighting with a custom light scene and environment resource. Also gives you *full* control over preview lighting! π‘

Agreed! Itβs been so much fun to play, and itβs a great example of what Godot is more than capable of doing to inspire other devs!

A table in the PR adding support for ?context and ?plural columns in Godot 4.6
If you use CSV for translating strings in your game, Godot 4.6 has added two new columns to help translators: (1) specifying which words are pluralized and (2) adding context for ambiguous terms!

This was such an incredible surprise from my players -- and a greater gift than I ever could have imagined to celebrate the end of the campaign!
Per was absolutely incredible to work with throughout, and I can't recommend him highly enough!

One cool thing Godot 4.6 added was the ability to dock tabs, so if there's something you need in a floating window, you can see it alongside other tabs at the same time! I've been using this a lot with the debugger and output tabs lately.
