Has anyone marked maths sats papers and can shed any light on whether it is worth it? I’ve been offered a contract today and wondering whether to accept.

A few weeks ago, I asked for different ways a student might notice they've made a mistake.
I'd now love your ideas for techniques that can students use to check their answers.
e.g.
- substitute a solution back in to check it works
- redo a question with a different method

How many lessons per week do you have and do you cover the course over 1 or 2 years?
Thank you!
Maths teaching thought for the day:
Students should meet almost all maths topics long before they see any formalised notation for them.
E.g.
This, before algebraic simultaneous equations.

We also have mathswatch and mymaths, we only have 50-100 pupils using them and both offer affordable packages to v small schools. We also have go teach maths and maths box and both are great!
Core Maths teachers - I’m looking at misleading diagrams/charts with my class on Friday. Anyone got any ‘great’ ones I can share with them? I’m going to use this classic but on the look out for a few more crackers @ecrmaths.bsky.social @davegjones.bsky.social @coremathscat.bsky.social
We have very small class sizes. Each student has a plastic zip folder with an A4 exercise book, pencil case and sometimes a plastic wallet as well. They either glue in sheets or put them in a plastic wallet. Everything is kept in the classroom which helps.

Just debunking the myth about Finland and Pisa results though compared to UK. Finland’s resluts have been declining over last few years. www.aqa.org.uk/aqi/finland-...
Maths teachers- can I ask how much curriculum time per week do your Y10 and Y11 classes get?
Thank you!
Thank you, very helpful!
Thank you, really helpful.
Never marked at all, is it easy enough to mark online and navigate the IT side of it?
Anyone mark for Edexcel GCSE maths? Is it worthwhile?
Looks great!
A friend of mine has just launched this website that I think is pretty great for generating quick starters for A-Level maths and he has started adding some questions for Further Maths too.
