I found this photo from the first workshop I attended, back in 2023. Hadn't been processed. I love Lake Superior year round, but she really shines in winter.

The sun has just fully risen above a narrow bank of clouds which are sitting on the horizon. The water of the lake is a full range of shades of orange, as the sun casts a ribbon of light across the water towards the shore. In the immediate foreground are the tops of snow covered rocks and the bare branches of small trees. The sky is dark, with orange hues at the horizon, blending to a dark grey above.

It was -16C at the lake this morning but worth the wait for the sunrise, even with a slight shoulder injury after climbing over the rocks. 😂
