six First of year species for us @rspbframptonmarsh.bsky.social yesterday, Sedge Reed Warblers, C.Whitethroat, Little Stint, and some sparkling Yellow Wagtails, but this partially leucistic Brent Goose was a star of the day

We have thought about going and looking in nearby fields / paddocks but not got round to it yet.
Yes, it has been reported, I think mostly in private garden. Don't know if any birders have tried for it though.
At last, after three failed attempts, it was fourth time lucky with the Crook Bank Lapland Bunting today. a #lincsbirding tick for us too. Thanks to @mattdenial.bsky.social for encouraging a fourth visit. #ukbirding
Great stuff Matt, well persevered! We've had three failed attempts at this bird too, and we are out of the County again at the weekend, ๐
So, do we know if this is just the wrong bird in the photo, or a barnacle x cackling with 5 barnacle x ( barnacle x cackling) offspring?
Good to meet you Matt. It was certainly a tough day at the birding office.
We saw a couple of Razorbills washed up too, and there seemed a lot more seal parts than normal too.
The garden has been very busy in the current cold snap. One of our Wrens has been regularly foraging close to the house in our weedy pots.
Deliberately weedy of course๐

Our first chance this year to catch up with the Covenham Reservoir divers yesterday, and the first time ever that we have seen all three regular British species on the same day.
2 Great Northern, a pic of each bird. And 1 each of Red-throated and Black-throated, together.

keep forgetting these... #UKBirding #LincsBirding
The magnificent seven Snow Buntings @rspbframptonmarsh.bsky.social last weekend were very confiding. Sat quietly on the bank (with Stig!) they happily came within 5-6 feet of us.
Wondered the same yesterday, when one gave a brief burst of song in Market Rasen
Both the app and website seem to be fine on my phone Chris.
That was a Common Magpie. In the sun their 'black' feathers are a glossy blue/green colour.
We caught up with our first Lincolnshire Glaucous Gull this morning, which took us to 200 species for the County this year.
Thanks @mikepilsworth.bsky.social for finding and getting news out.

Alison's video of the Jack Snipe @gibpoint today. She initially picked it up with thermal, but still took a few minutes to get regular optics on it!
Yellow-browed Warbler, 3 Ring Ouzel, among 73 species seen there, 2 Swallows and terrific thrush and finch movement

This was yesterday (Friday 12th).
a couple of Alison's phonescoped videos...
The Grey Phalarope at Novartis Ings was initially quite distant, but played nice by working a lot closer to the hide feeding, then came to the bank to preen.

Huttoft Pit LWT NR was pretty dry yesterday. This Kingfisher was probably hoping for easy pickings of any remaining fish coralled around the platform. She didn't stay around long and we didn't see her dive so she was likely disappointed.
We've waited all year for a Whinchat and five turned up together @gibpoint yesterday. Plus one possibly two more individuals around. Also managed to be nearby when a Black Tern was found in the beach tern roost. Yearlist up to 230 now.
Plus photo bombing Stonechat.

Thanks very much Andy.
App suggested Tree Lichen Beauty & Small Ranunculus for these two but we are not so sure on either.
@mothiduk.bsky.social could you help us out please?
True, but that isn't looking very likely at the moment.
Alison said she wanted a Lifer from our trip to Shetland, I didn't even consider that it could be a Eyebrowed Thrush!
Day two, of 15. Not sure anything can top this though.

Very happy to find some Spotted Flycatchers on our patch near Caistor. A pair plus at least one other male at the weekend.

We went back with optics after work and he was back on the Marina, still a little distant but much better views.
Must remember to put the work binos back in the car.
