Out with mum for the evening check on the new lambs born this afternoon on the farm in Winteringham, picked up a unfamiliar call outside the barn only to discover a corn bunting doing his 'jangling of keys' song from the telephone wires.

At least 3 Wheatears at Barkston Heath this afternoon. One male looking more like autumn plumage, probably a late developer. Swallows moving north. #Lincsbirding

Drake and female Garganey on East Pit along with female Greater Scaup at Deeping Lakes LWT this morning. Also a singing Reed Warbler! #lincsbirding
2 Firecrests and a mobile male Ring Ouzel at Donna Nook today. I'm presuming they are pollen horns around the Firecrest's beak - evidence it was foraging in southern climes not long ago. Also Yellow Wagtail over, 2 Wheatears and 2 Willow Warblers #lincsbirding
Difficult viewing through the security fencing and thick vegetation down at the old sewage works but a couple of bright yellow birdies were in there. The Yellow Wagtails have arrived. #lincsbirding
I popped back to RSPB Frampton Marsh this afternoon to walk the sea wall that I didn’t visit yesterday and it was Brent Geese and Avocets that dominated. There was also a Marsh Harrier quartering on a field nearby #UKBirding #LincsBirding
I visited Gibraltar Point this morning and these were my highlights on a beautiful day, without a cloud in the sky #UKBirding #LincsBirding
