News has reached us of people trespassing at the Woodsford Garganey to get a better view or a better picture. This is an active working quarry & risks disturbing a rare breeding species. It also dissuades finders from releasing bird news. A lose, lose, lose situation. Please lets up our game.

Its only taken 7 seasons over 4 years, to see the Forster's Tern from South Haven, Studland
The 3rd Studland record
It was feeding around Stone Island with 4 Sarnie Terns 07:20-07:30
I lost it as it flew back towards Brownsea

Surprisingly only the second Studland record given this is its 7th season over 4 calendar years in Poole Harbour

The account from Mansel-Pleydell of Great Bustards in Dorset up to 1888 (albeit I've put the original into word so it's searchable compared to the original book). This mentions historic records in Langton Matravers & Studland

The Great Bustard was still visible (scope needed) in the private fields East of the Glebelands estate late PM, with a party of 3 Roe Deer. I was viewing from the Glebelands estate next to the house called Beechwood

Strictly, its only the 3rd Poole Harbour record since they went extinct as a UK breeding in the mid-late 1800s😉
This one is sporting a nice orange ring. Hopefully the Great Bustard Project will be able to tell us more about it & it's movements in the next few days
