Our latest preprint in an awesome collaboration with the Wack Lab @crick.ac.uk. Led by @chrysante-ili.bsky.social, @woutertj.bsky.social and @isobelmouat.bsky.social.

We show that monocytes follow a largely conserved differentiation blueprint in the 🫁 when elicited by distinct challenges.

Lovely to see the imaging by @lizihegarty.bsky.social making the front cover of @mucosalimmunol.bsky.social. Instead is our work on #macrophage heterogeneity & dynamics in health & inflammation. We also did a short podcast to discuss the main findings. @edinuni-irr.bsky.social @uofgsii.bsky.social

Do tissue resident #macrophages survive through intestinal #inflammation? Are they terminally differentiated or can they adapt? @lizihegarty.bsky.social asked these Qs during her @wellcometrust.bsky.social PhD and her findings are now published @mucosalimmunol.bsky.social

Great to see this out for all to see after a lot of hard work by @lizihegarty.bsky.social and @bainlab.bsky.social. Colonic #macrophages persist but are transcriptionally altered post- #inflammation in a mouse model of #colitis.

Delighted all of @lizihegarty.bsky.social's hard work as paid off. She shows that tissue resident colonic #macrophages persist through #inflammation and adapt to aid tissue repair.

Lovely collaborative work with colleagues @edinuni-irr.bsky.social and beyond. πŸ™πŸ»
