'Amor languens evanescentis'

In the echo of my creation,
torments of my own devising,
I wander a lovesick heart.

Meandering paths unchosen.

yearning for shadows unsated,
reaching for whispers untouched,
grasping an ephemeral body electric-
feeling absence eclipsed,
desiring what can't be had.

So far this year I've read 3 extremely funny & uplifting books. All About Me! by Mel Brooks and the Life & Mind of Andy Kaufman. And one by the British comedian Rob Gotobed, whose humour I only discovered thanks to my dentist introducing me to his work. Best trip to the dentist ever! Thanks Stephen

Knee deep in browned waters,
walking beside,
patting an elephant at its pace in Thailand.

An elephant with a wearied, still, kind expression,
if that was possibly true.

And those almost a wrap after four long years,
the courses you take your break abroad from,
Physics and Maths that could daunt even the most studious,
you gravitate toward as a safe future space.

And the blue green glasses like a fairytale tower window,
the blue tiles of the floors,
the lamps on every table where you relax.

And the busy early evening street scene
of Chinese and Thai neon signs high on buildings,
and motorcycles moving through the steam of food stalls,
you gave yourself time to really pay attention to,
noticing the sleep always awake
in your mother's posts announcing you had arrived safely.

"With clarity and conviction, Kells dismantles the myth of female inferiority.
She challenges entrenched patriarchal norms and highlights how excluding women harms economic growth and global resilience".

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Kacey Kells’ written description of the hellish event put me in the same room with her, and I was aghast and saddened for this innocent, timid, beautiful girl as I read the unfolding of the criminal acts. Only great writing can do that."

Title page of the book Poems by Currer, Ellis, and Acton Bell

Authors: Charlotte Brontë
Anne Brontë
Emily Brontë

A title page from an 1846 publication on aged cream paper. At the very top, a handwritten pencil inscription reads "Brontë Charlotte" in a casual, slightly slanted hand. The printed text is centered and typeset in a spare, classical style with generous spacing between elements.
Below a small decorative wavy rule, the publication details appear at the bottom:
LONDON:
SMITH, ELDER AND CO., 65, CORNHILL.
1846.

The layout is minimal and elegant, with wide margins and abundant white space giving it a restrained, dignified character typical of mid-Victorian book design.

How Wuthering Heights was shaped by Emily Brontë’s gothic poetry

Emily Brontë’s poetry is full of haunting love, grief and death.

Today should be your 38th birthday..
When you lose your son you lose more than a child you lose a piece of your heart and your joy. Life is forever altered, and nothing can ever fill that space. Yet in my soul, he remains, my precious boy, forever loved. His laughter, his smile, and his love are woven into who I am. My love for him will never fade. Yor are my pride and my joy - you've made a change that cannot be broken..

Image description: A high-resolution portrait of a medium-sized bird standing in a grassy meadow. The bird has sleek, jet-black plumage and a distinctive bright yellow beak. Its dark eye is visible as it looks slightly to the right of the frame. The background is a soft, out-of-focus blend of green grass and small yellow wildflowers, creating a bright and natural atmosphere.

Clue: Commonly found soaring around high-altitude ski resorts and rocky peaks, this bird is often mistaken for its cousin, but prefers to keep its "nose" sunny-side up.

Fun fact: This bird is a world-record holder for high-altitude living! It has been observed nesting at elevations over 6,500 meters (21,000 feet) on Mount Everest—higher than any other bird species in the world.
