So I was well hidden behind the trees, in fact well out of range and out of sight. However, as I kept getting closer, the Downy Woodpecker stopped its task of dismantling the bark of the tree, and began watching me with its peculiar eye. I thought I was done for. But some nearby people managed to interrupt the stares and it flew off. I was saved. I was lucky, this time.

My cover got blown. The Woodpecker was watching me.
