Super excited to present some of our newest work at @iuis-online.bsky.social #IUIS2025 in Vienna! Definitely the largest hall I’ve ever presented in.
The JCCLab is representing at #AAI2025!
Just saw a talk by Andrew Pask at #AGBT25 #AGBTGM on marsupial genomics, evolution, and gene editing for conservation. Completely mind blowing work. Taking both genetic editing and conservation work into a new frontier.
David Altshuler from Vertex kicking things off at #AGBT25 with an amazing talk but also an inspiring thought: “I hope that ‘hope’ is something that all of the work presented here can help create.” NIH-funded research is ultimately creating hope for the future, and we can’t forget that.
I guess I should clarify that I don’t think it’s just understanding the importance of job security (which I’m sure most do), but I’m lucky to be at a place that has also made a commitment to making it a priority in their everyday policies.
It’s beyond unfortunate that there is so much uncertainty in the job market for scientists, both in industry as well as academia. I’m INCREDIBLY fortunate to be at an institution that understands the importance of job security when trying to recruit talented team members.
The JCC Lab is #hiring experienced bench scientists for work on human immunology and assay development! These are long term, stable positions not subject to the ebb and flow of federal funding. talent.stjude.org/careers/jobs...
I have collected Christmas ornaments for years, but two of my close collaborators just gifted me my first JCC Lab ornament! They said it’s a rocket because “the lab is taking off”. Thanks so much @asya-minervina.bsky.social and Misha!
And great catching up with @habeljen.bsky.social and so many others!
Had a very productive and eventful time at @niaidnews.bsky.social for the annual meeting on the impact of initial influenza exposure on infant immunity. #immunology #development @eksliger.bsky.social @pgtimmune.bsky.social
Great interview of Sydney Brenner. One of my favorite stories of Crick and Brenner is their reaction to being scooped by Marshall Nirenberg in deciphering the genetic code. They were thrilled 🧪
Excited to share this paper from my post-doc at @niaidnews.bsky.social out now in Science Immunology! We show that recent or ongoing 🫁 infections or other pulmonary environmental exposures at the time of infection with SARSCoV2 can vastly influence early replication of the virus in mice.
Super cool work with wide-ranging implications!
very impressed by so many of India’s doctors and scientists stepping up to organize, innovate, and strategically confront the challenge of AMR that threatens their populous country and the world beyond

We could go on about how we welcome publishers, we don't demote links, we encourage independent developers to build apps and extensions on top of Bluesky's network.... but instead, we'll show you.
All thanks to the incredible community here! 🦋
