And yes, I know how LSPs treat us sometimes. I’ve turned into a wary old woman and I no longer trust them in situations like this. I'll ask what the "big project" is. If it's a sports game, I'm out! Problem solved. 😜

To be honest, I'm not even sure I trust them, considering how they suddenly remembered I exist just to bid on a potential project. They may have sent the same request to other translators, I'm not sure.

Hey fellow translators, what do you do when an agency that rarely sends you work suddenly asks for your CV to bid on "a big project" ?

I'm willing to help, but I've been burned before.

Let's start the year with a fun anecdote: my non-translator niece accepted an MTPE project thinking it’d be quick and easy.
It ended up taking her twice longer than translating from scratch.
However, she charged €50/hour… and the client paid it without blinking. #MTPE #Translation #xl8

Don't use Crowding. It's a nightmare for translators.
