We should remember that Peter Magyar is pretty right-wing, and used to be a member of Orban's Fidesz party until 2 years ago. I just really hope this is not a Putin-Medvedev rerun. Magyar's policies and actions must be watched closely. Only cos he's not as bat-shit as Orban doesn't mean he's alright

May Victor Orbán simply be the first in a string of countries engaging in overdue housecleaning by kicking their authoritarian leaders to the curb.
I’m still in awe over all the dumb fuck law firms, tv networks, and universities that caved to Trump.
More or less everyone who has stood up to Trump has won and everyone who didn’t has suffered an endless series of humiliations.
He still needs to be removed from office. A war powers resolution will not suffice. He circumvented Congress to start the war. He circumvented them on tariffs and appropriations. Why anyone thinks he'd adhere to a Congressional war powers resolution is beyond me.
Eyewitness video from the scene of today's ICE shooting in California appears to (you guessed it) contradict officials' claims that the man "weaponized" his vehicle. The car is reversing and the agents appear to be well clear of it.
The corrupt US regime of EEK! 🤢🤮
Info about an account sharing viral video of the moon saying it’s Artemis 2 but it’s not, and that account is blocking people who point it out
Just in case folks miss this due to the block
Oh no. NSF Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) program shuttered.
This one leaves me winded. A good story from 2025 by @seattletimes-rss.bsky.social offers insight into what we are losing: www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Needs to establish, quickly, just out of the gate, that he’s even more of an idiot than Noem was.
It's astounding how much of the central infrastructure for global capitalism is in a place where it is almost completely safe unless you start a war with Iran in which case it's immediately completely fucked and then Trump and his people were like fuck it War Time
Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
The crew of Artemis II is experiencing a total solar eclipse RIGHT NOW from just a few thousand miles above the lunar surface. Here's why it's cool and what they could see 🧪 🔭

8” x 8” acrylics on paper. Abstract painting. Mostly deep highly textured blue, with moments of teal, dark red, and yellow and bits of white peeking through on the bottom third. It has a streak of white with a splash of yellow at its base that starts mid left and crosses the upper half of the painting at a diagonal which is breaking up into particles in the deep blue.
I paint intuitive abstracts to process overwhelming emotions. This #painting also seems to me to fit the prompt, #openings , for the #BlueSkyArtShow. It was painted the week after my mom died after years of Alzheimer’s. We had a prickly, complex relationship before dementia. 8”x8” acrylics on paper.
Hand holding a 2 inch square acrylic painting of an egg shell broken open by being split in half with the raw egg spilling out. Light grey background.
I know this isn’t what was meant, but this little #painting still fits the prompt, #openings , for the #blueskyartshow this week. 😉 I tried painting it as a needed distraction then; it worked.
2” square acrylic painting on wood board.
Purely lovely. Thanks for sharing. I only ever get to see sunsets (not a morning person).
a square shaped artwork. a cream cotton base with 3 torn edge smaller pieces of light green organza and polyester fabrics overlapping. In the middle is a dark pink metallic thistle shaped oiece of fabric. Covering the botton half is a hand embroidered open wing swallowtail butterfly. On the top right corner of the pink fabric is the body and lower part of a wing in profile of another hand embroidered swallowtail butterfly.

Los Angeles Bluesky, I need your help. I just learned that on Saturday at the protest at the downtown Metropolitan Detention Center, a friend’s 18-year-old son was shot in the eye with a pepper ball by DHS, permanently blinding him. He needs justice. If you were there and saw anything, please… 1/5
Painting gardens brings me joy … and distances my pain while I’m painting. This is my most recent painting.

ICE has kept a disabled double amputee prisoner for over 14 months.
Rodney Taylor has been denied access to his prosthetic legs.
Forced to crawl across dirty floors to access food.
Placed in solitary.
Denied medical accommodations.
They’re killing him & he needs the community to make noise!
People say Trump has no war strategy, but his strategy is quite clearly a criminal one of destroying Iran's civilian infrastructure (and killing a bunch of people in the process) unless they capitulate. We -- the United States of America -- are a rogue state and global pariah.
Depends on the state. NY was longer than, say, South Carolina.
People really memory holed-covid, due to a huge far right propaganda effort. That's why all you hear about is lockdowns, and not:
- hospitals out of capacity
- Skype calls with family members in quarantine as they died
- bodies stored in freezer trailors
- mass graves in NYC
Photo by Kort Duce A black-capped chickadee clings to the bark at the entrance of its nest cavity along St. Vrain Creek in Longmont, Colorado. In this vertical color photograph, the bird faces left, a small bit of wood pulp clinging to the tip of its beak. The background is a softly blurred tree trunk from the same tree, adding texture without distraction. A pair of chickadees is actively excavating the nest, removing decaying wood with their beaks and flying off to discard the pulp—a behavior that helps reduce the risk of attracting predators.

They come 4 deep too. That’s what mine is.
I have a four slot box per day weekly pill organizer, with a literal handful per slot.. Easy enough to tell if I took it… is it still in the slot box for that day& time?
I remember the Apollo moon landing; I was 9. We didn’t have a TV at the time and Dad rented one specifically so that we could watch the moon landing mission.
