Poster titled “Plastic Fate Across Environments and Sedimentary Systems” with the Elsevier logo and the heading “Call for Contributions: Anthropocene Special Issue.” Authors listed: Maciej Liro, Anna Zielonka, Astrid Delorme, Catherine Russell, and Luca Gallitelli. The poster explains a Special Issue in the journal Anthropocene focused on an interdisciplinary approach (hydrodynamics, geochemistry, environmental science) to assess “sedimentary traps” for macro- and microplastics. Bullet points invite submissions on plastic transport and accumulation, fragmentation from macro to micro/nano, the sedimentological record, and solutions for manual/automated plastic removal. A box includes a ScienceDirect link for full details and submission, plus a contact email maciej.liro@gmail.com
. Bottom section shows a photo of plastic debris on sand, and an ASN logo with the line “A project of the Anthropocene Sediment Network” and the website anthrosednet.com.

Illustrated cross-section “landscape” graphic showing a wide range of Anthropocene sediment settings, with many labels marked as times (e.g., 09:45, 10:30, 12:45, 15:30, 17:30, which refer to the schedule that we had on the day). The scene includes a city/industrial area and port on the left, housing and a quarry/extraction area toward the centre, a hill with grazing animals, engineered/managed slopes, and an industrial plant with smokestack and machinery. The subsurface shows layered ground with tunnels/voids and channel-like features, suggesting buried infrastructure, excavation, and sediment movement. Overall, the image conveys the variety of environments and processes covered by ASN conference talks.

Cylindrical glass beads in bright shades of blue and turquoise with white horizontal stripes Photo: Archäologisches Landesmuseum Baden-Württemberg

Glass beads were a luxury product in Bronze Age central Europe. These 3,000 year-old beads were found in the pile-dwelling settlements of Sipplingen and Hagnau-Burg at Lake Constance. They were probably made in the Alpine foothills from raw glass imported from Italy.
