This letter from Tony Vaughan KC, the MP for Folkestone, is the clearest articulation I’ve seen on the flaws of the interim update from the EHRC. The section titled ‘Legal Incoherence’ hits the nail on the head.
And here we go - as expected, they're going after kids now. This is exactly the sort of thing I warned about when the Supreme Court judgment was released.
Defend Trans Lives - Trans Rights are Workers Rights bloc at Glasgow May Day. Sunday 4th May, 10.30 for 11, corner of London Rd and Moir St (G2 5BG)
🏳️⚧️ We're thinking of our trans and non-binary members and learners today.
🫂 The UK Supreme Court ruling is a blow but it does not affect our humanity.
✊🏻 Trans women are women; trans men are men and nonbinary identities are valid.

Donald Trump sparked outrage worldwide with his shocking display of bullying at Friday's Oval office meeting with Ukraine’s President Zelensky. Now, over 145,000 of us are calling to cancel his second UK state visit - will you join the backlash too? you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/no...

Updating details for SQA marking. It’s 2025 and they only offer male/female and gendered titles, no Mx. So you may now address me as Captain Currie, I’m going to retrain as a pirate #queer #LGBTQIA

My move to secondary… I enjoyed teaching, enjoyed being in the class rather than the rest of the job (I’d been both promoted and a national union negotiator in FE). Wanted to teach maths because I could see the importance of the subject, both in its own right but also as a gatekeeper qualification
A belief in the importance of education and the potential of education to enact social change… but I graduated in 1998 with Section 2a/28 still in place and swore I’d never set foot in a secondary school again. Got a job in FE by luck rather than design… 20 years later moved to secondary.
