Nova Scotia, particularly the Halifax area, has at least #100WildIslands off the coast. Some are very close, I have several blocking my view in the harbour, my closest was purchased and my neighbour has no mainland, so he parks i my yard to take his boat to his camp on the island. I gave him trees
Who went fishing today? Sure was windy around the #100WildIslands. Offshore winds are dangerous, a stalled motor & you'd be 20 miles offshore in an hour. I was getting splashed anchored, but we got 2 dozen fish. (Mackerel) 🐟

Nova Scotia tourism in general is lacking. It reports the same half-dozen spots, you can get off the ferry and see the cabot trail the next day, and return all on 100 series high speed highways. I don't want tourists destroying the place either, but we have #100WildIslands off Halifax, and kayaks

We live in the #100WildIslands are of Halifax. There's some *islands* you can straddle with your legs, others are 100 acres, and some have cabins on them. We go explore inner islands but it's unsafe to go further in the open ocean without back up plans.
You can't go weave around our #100WildIslands with a big boat. Besides shallows, we're full of surprise rocks. Small boats aren't going fast and bounce right off them. Big fiberglass boats sink.. Miles out at sea, we have big rocks, some buried beneath the surface at high tide. There are risks.
Yes, my islands are in the ocean. I have waterfront property, surrounded by the ocean. Storm tides turned my driveway into a bridge. But, talking distance away, an island the same size was sold (now my buddy), and I didn't know, it went for under $13k, 1.5 acre,. and it's part of the #100WildIslands

Halifax has the #100WildIslands , and some of the inner ones had villages on them at one time. My grandmother taught school on Gerrard's Island off Tangier. Out Mitchel Bay, there's 300 acre islands for sale. Some have a camp or cottage, few have year round access.

Sometimes you see a deer, on one of Halifax's #100WildIslands. This doe was surprised to see us.
Deer are pretty good swimmers, but I think they become residents if there's a herd. (3km to Mainland)

That was quite the adventure for $80. Next time I was in a Kayak, I borrowed a Tandem, (My wife is disabled, and is unable to paddle) and we went way too far out to sea off Mitchel Bay (Nova Scotia) there's #100WildIslands and we stopped at a few. It was super tiring though, as only one paddling

Because I can't have a big boat (I have to lift and move it alone) I can only pull and move boats my weight. Our tiny plastic boats, 9 foot and 12 foot JonBoat, and square back canoe (with electric motor) is all we have. there's #100WildIslands along Halifax coastline, We visit the inner ones.
I've never been to Alaska, or anywhere near that grow zone, except maybe Goose Bay, Labrador, when in the Navy, long before my retirement hobby of growing trees from seed. I've grown hundreds of trees. I can't afford the soil to keep they in pots, in cup size, I plant some on our #100WildIslands

You are not far off. Along the coastline of #Halifax are #100WildIslands. Some are far out & we have a tiny boat. We go to inner islands, some large, 96 acres, there's deer are on the islands. They will enjoy the apple trees someday, or visitors may pick them. I leave pairs.

So, I began by growing a few hundred apple trees from seed. Of course, I don't have land for more than 100 total trees, I gave most away. I planted pairs on our #100WildIslands too. I saved room for all the other trees from seeds, pear, plum, quince, apricot, peach, nectarines and more.

At low tide, you can't get a boat back to shore, as the ocean floor empties to silt.

No, remember, we don't have any poisonous snakes. It was a big garter snake. how it got there was a mystery. They die on the cold ocean. But it was warm weather, they can swim island to island, we are known as in the BAY OF ISLANDS #100WildIslands
Few years ago, just driving, we counted beaches. I'd day, excluding fussy people that need sand, to call it a Beach, we saw almost 100, but likely missed a few, and don't forget on islands, we have #100WildIslands off Halifax, beautiful isolated beaches. We were just up to Port Hood with the RV
