Finally motivated to set up an account after seeing how many cool #2024APPAM folks I met are over here (really just here to keep in touch with everyone I met)!
Had a great time at the conference last week + grateful for all the work being done across disciplines to tackle US housing challenges 🏘️🏙️
What a great conference week! #2024APPAM and #SEA2024 were so fulfilling! So much good research happening. (See @lisagennetian.bsky.social post below!) Phew, I am tired.
And, here are some pictures I took from my friends.

Still reflecting on the great time I had at #2024APPAM! Particularly right now, it was wonderful being in community with practitioners and scholars focused on building public good through every lever we can. Thanks to everyone at @appam.bsky.social who worked hard to make this great event happen!

🎯 #2024APPAM was incredible!
🔹 Presented two papers: energy justice in utility planning and local governments’ disaster prep
🔹 Gained invaluable feedback
🔹 Celebrated my advisor’s World Citizen Prize win
🔹 Received the thrilling news about an R&R on my first solo paper!
Wrapped up #APPAM2024 with a session on aligning community college programs with the labor market—right up my alley! Thanks to @jdsparks.bsky.social, Thea Dowrich, Elise Sawson, and their co-authors for sharing insights. Great discussion by @riacton.bsky.social & Julia Turner! #econsky #2024APPAM
Attended an insightful session at @appam.bsky.social led by Kevin Stange! Did you know 23% of higher edu students face food insecurity & 60% eligible for SNAP don’t participate? Scholars are working on some great papers and trying to close this gap #econsky #2024APPAM #APPAM2024
Heading back from a successful #2024APPAM! So good to see such exciting research and scholars 🫶🏻

Great time at #2024APPAM. Going home with this APPAM hoodie just in time for FL winter. Now that eagle's attire has nothing on mine.
Very kind of National Harbor to close out #2024APPAM with a fireworks show!
Great to see old friends, make new ones, and be inspired by policy-relevant research the past few days. 🤍
Great new work by Sophie Collyer & Chris Yera (Columbia Center on Poverty & Social Policy) on the CTC and gender pay gap. 2 million kids not receiving the full CTC due to unexplained differences between mothers’ and fathers’ wages. #2024APPAM
Had a great few days at #2024appam. I’ll definitely be back to this conference in the future!
And that's a wrap on #2024APPAM! A huge thank you to everyone who attended, our presenters, session organizers, discussants, exhibitors, students, sponsors, scavenger hunters & everyone else who made this year's conference such an amazing experience. See you next year in Seattle!
If you haven’t yet met @yerinyoon.bsky.social of the Boston College Lynch School you soon will. She just exemplified poise and sophistication of methods and presentation in only her 3rd year of doctoral study. Thanks to #2024appam and #sea2024 for these opportunities for her to showcase our work!
I just finished three presentations at #2024APPAM and #SEA2024! It was an amazing experience sharing our work (with @doughesm.bsky.social), and receiving insightful feedback from colleagues. There are so many reasons to love APPAM, but this year’s highlight has to be this cute teddy bear 🧸!
Washington DC from an airplane. The Washington monument, Jefferson memorial and Capital are visible.
