I started a series of videos to show the behind the scenes of #ProfLife. I am hoping that it allows my students and community to learn more about what I do outside of the classroom. Here is a recap of #SEA2024

Energized and inspired after #SEA2024!

This year’s conference brought 2,400 brilliant economists together. I spent my time with cherished colleagues, coauthors, and friends at this year's conference.

The SEAs is one my favorite conferences in the US (just after the Midwest International Trade conf.). It has been great to meet co-authors, meet old friends and meet new ones! See you next year!

But I was totally okay missing the turkey pardon because of this *SUPER* session we had at #SEA2024, on "Understanding the Impact of Resources in Early Life." Meant it when I said best part of panel organizing is pulling together your favorite researchers and most interesting new work on a topic.

What a great conference week! #2024APPAM and #SEA2024 were so fulfilling! So much good research happening. (See @lisagennetian.bsky.social post below!) Phew, I am tired.

And, here are some pictures I took from my friends.

My academic career was influenced heavily by the old twitter. I met so many people this past weekend at the #SEA2024 that I first connect with virtually. I am excited for #EconSky because it’s giving the same vibes of community and engagement.

6 days, 3 conferences, 4 presentations, 3 discussant pres, and a poster later, I am done conferencing 😅 wouldn’t necessarily recommend doing that much in one go but I loved connecting with so many of you at ED, #APPAM2024, and #SEA2024! Now time for some rest 😴

Biden pardons 'Peach' and 'Blossom' in White House Thanksgiving turkey tradition Peach and Blossom are the two lucky turkeys from Minnesota who are escaping a fowl fate as part of a White House tradition.

Had the chance to see these two turkeys receive their clemency today and instead went ahead with the session I planned at Southerns held at the same time, lest you ever question my commitment. #SEA2024

The Southern Economic Association is by far the best conference in the econ profession. Open, collegial, with hundreds of participants presenting across all fields. No elitism, no rudeness. Just genuine engagement, as it should be #SEA2024

I had a great time presenting at #SEA2024 this weekend and hearing many excellent talks. I even braved a structural micro session, which made me very grateful my advisor did not let me write a structural paper when I suggested one.

We had a great session at #SEA2024, “Life as a Researcher at the Largest Employer of Economists”! It was an informative discussion about working at the best job ever with Jocelyn Jackson, Pia Orrenius, Mark Jensen,
John Stevens, and Urvi Neelakantan.

I had a fun, albeit all-too-brief time presenting at #SEA2024 this morning. It was a new experience for me being in a panel about research related to a relatively narrow topic (partisanship and economic expectations), and I learned a lot! links to the papers below:
