Here’s one for @robcrank68.bsky.social’s #3sDay. Free range chicks outside of Havana.

Three raccoon babies sit on a thick tree limb. Two have their backs to the camera. The third rests its inquisitive head on its sibling and looks toward the camera.

The three raccoons siblings lie in a heap on the V of a branch. There are glimpses of noses and eye masks and ears under the more visible top raccoon.

Two of the raccoon babies crawl on their mother’s stomach. One baby is nose-to-nose with mama and has its little “hand” on her eye.

My #3sDay post is from when we had #raccoon babies grow up at our house. We called them Mary, Edith, and Sybil. Mom Cora is in the last photo because she deserves credit. They wore her out! (Yes, I am feeling nostalgic. Why do you ask? 😜) #ThreesDay #WildlifePhotography #ECK

Male Sandhills tend to be taller and heavier than the females so dad at the front, mom in the middle, and the big colt at the rear with the brown head. They mate for life. Not many cranes seen around the refuge this time of year, so this was a cool find.

#ThreesDay, or #3sDay and a family of Sandhill Cranes out for dinner on the fields of Ridgefield NWR last evening. Saw the Mr consume a big noodle of an earthworm. Mom was sharing tidbits with their big kid of a colt.
