Aren’t you?” I know I’m out of line but it’s true. “Why would I call you?” Guilt flashes in his eyes but it’s quickly replaced by that hard look that reminds me he’s the boss. “You call me because you’re mine.” -- Jaxon Bortsov & Gabriella de Costa I do like Gabriella de Costa's spunk. She's used to being treated with little regard, so every time she holds her ground, I'm cheering for her. And her chemistry with Jaxon is fantastic! I read along with the audio book. Cillian O’Ridian, on the other hand, turns into a giant kitten when Chloe is about. I'd laugh if it weren't so freaking hot. OK, so I'm laughing regardless. 😂 I love the dichotomy. -- Book quote 'I’m not known for compassion. Not at all. I’m the kill-first-ask-questions-later kind of guy people fear, but there’s something about this girl.' -- Cillian O’Ridian I love the push and pull between them. I like how it starts. It's dark and twisty and leaves me with questions about that night and what happened with Petr, and I am also excited for what's to come for this couple. Virgo has made mistakes. I love that he owns them. Sure, he's measured in revealing them, but I really like that he comes forward and is honest about them. I respect him for that. -- Book quote 'I was her first and her only. Until I fucked things up and led us to this.' -- Virgo Antonov The chemistry between them is really good, but the mystery of what happened a few years prior and how the present ties in is even better.
