shower thought. about adems manderville harp bow. i think at the midway point of dt where theres that timeskip godbert could tell adem was getting antsy about Something so he interrogated him (affectionate) and found out about him and erenvilles early version of the endgame plan for erenville to quit the gleaners and for them to go off and travel together for a while but he was nervous to bring it up and ask for time away but godbert was just like alright. but we have a really important order to fill before you go. no leaving until its finished so adem poured his heart and soul into this project to prove his dedication and skill and in the end it turned out as That Bow and adem was so proud of it and like "i hope the client likes it" and godbert hit him with the "well, do you?" and ofc when he tried to refuse it bc hes humble godbert was just like lol. i didnt do anything you literally made it entirely with your own two hands. take it and have fun out there and dont forget to write. and practice your smithing of course. i can feel when you dont. love ya son :thumbsup:

also it adds the hilarity element of adem and erenville having a quiet romantic moment alone on literally another continent and Somehow Godbert Manderville crashes out of the sky in just his underwear like "Oh! Adem my boy! Fancy seeing you here, was meaning to ask your thoughts on a project and now I don't have to send a letter!" and then he asks some niche crafting questions and weighs adems opinions with obvious respect, nods, then sprints off into the treeline without another word. you cant escape your forced adoptive family that easily adem, also he hands them a little care package with some treats Julyan made before running off it is unclear whether he actually planned to run into them or if this was actually a coincidence, another one of lifes mysteries

Took psychic damage from thinking abt Adem noticing he's getting stronger & less awkward and realizing all the ridiculous training and embarrassment Godbert has put him through wasn't just to mold him into the goldsmith hildibrand refused to be but to Help Him Like Himself Again When he got back from the first and lost all the strength he'd gained those five years and had to start all over again it really killed the confidence he'd built up during shb too and he kinda regressed back into a socially awkward wimp who's plummeting self esteem caused him to even lose passion for his crafting...he was very unhappy and hated himself a lot at first bc he was weak and he didn't wan to be weak bc if he was weak Eme would leave him behind again (tfw deep ancestral trauma burned into your soul) and he'd never come out of his shell again....so when Godbert saw this pathetic looking kid following Eme like he was trying to hide In her shadow and struggling to even introduce himself to people who also happened to have the hands of an experienced crafter....💡💡

He didn't just need a mentor to force him to put himself out there and commit to hard work he needed a father so he government assigned himself those two positions. He's on the syndicate he's allowed to do that. And thus Adem moonwalker-manderville... Adem is an omniceafter and his true passion is cooking but he did end up finding he had a knack for goldsmithing and even enjoyed it so Godbert still got that heir replacement he needed, they both won 👍 Sorry I'm back to this imagining Godbert putting him through rigorous social interaction training by taking him along for business meetings and having him use his Dionysus powers of knowing everything about wine and grapes to charm them into closing the deal No he can't talk to cashiers or handsome men or even people he's known for years without dodging eye contact like it's the draft yes he can help secure some of manderville&mandervilles biggest contracts by tapping into his ancient autism. He's the guy ever
