A large Kingfisher is flying low above the water and its reflection shows in the ripples. The bird has a blue-gray head, white neck and light chestnut belly and under wings. Its outer wings are white with black markings as seen from underneath. The water is gorgeous with reflections of trees showing green and gold and dark brown. The kingfisher, taken in the Uk is a beautiful bird with a bright orange front and stunning turquoise crown, wings and back. a long dagger like beak extends from a face which below the crown is orange and blue with a white bib and white tufts towards the neck, the black eyes always look alert and focused. the thin twig shows off the bright red feet of the bird.
