We want to #shutdown #AlisoCanyon. 10 Years ago TODAY Earthworks used an OGI camera to capture the historic gas blowout. Residents still deal w/ the fallout from toxics & chemicals. bit.ly/Aliso-Canyon

October 23rd marks 10 years since the #AlisoCanyon gas blowout — the largest methane leak in U.S. history.
We owe it to all who suffered from this avoidable disaster to shut Aliso Canyon down and build a cleaner, safer future. #ShutAlisoDown (1/2)
People living near the #ChiquitaCanyonLandfill want to know: Why won't @governor.ca.gov Newsom declare a state of emergency for those suffering debilitating ailments from the landfill like Gov. Brown did for those affected by #AlisoCanyon? /7
The LA County Health Dept. reported receiving about 700 complaints during the #AlisoCanyon disaster. It received more than 29,500—that's right, 29,500—complaints from residents living near #ChiquitaCanyonLandfill. And the regional air district cited the landfill with hundreds of violations. /5

Please call in to the 12/19 CPUC meeting to speak out against the proposal to keep the #AlisoCanyon site open. The CPUC refused to consider health & safety issues, even though section 451 of the Public Utilities Code says safety is a top priority at gas facilities. The graphic below has more info.
If @gavinnewsom.bsky.social wants to be a national climate leader, he needs to follow through on his promises and stop doing the bidding of big utility interests. This starts with fulfilling his promise to shut down Aliso Canyon. www.commondreams.org/opinion/news... #AlisoCanyon #ActOnClimate
Right?? Now he needs to get on top of that #AlisoCanyon situation and do right by the people there!!!
Stop standing with and/or behind the damn gas & oil companies!!!
As an Aliso activist, I'm grateful for this. The CPUC is acting as a “capture regulator,” allowing SoCalGas to profit, while 1 million residents are put at risk. #AlisoCanyon must be shut down ASAP! See bit.ly/411yoRp for more info.
