Colour photo. In the middle of a spread of deep green and coppery coloured furry leaves, a single nodding flower. The sepals (which look like opetals) are white with just a hint of pink, and the stamens are many and hide the pistil. The light is subdued, patchy sunglight filtered through the emerging forest leaf canopy.
Looking up a bank that is covered in a colony of windflowers. At the top in the background you see the trunks of trees and fresh spring foliage. Among the windflowers are a few emerging stems of Maianthemum racemosum, false Solomon's seal.
#Anemonoides (formerly #Anemone) quinquefolia, windflower, #HighPark, #Toronto (Huron, Iroquois, Ojibwe), Ontario, Canada. April 2004.
