Sticky resin can gum up the mouthparts of insect herbivores & may be unpalatable. Also, resin dries to form a waterproof cap over the wound, which prevents secondary fungal & bacterial infection. 📷: Araucaria luxurians #Araucariaceae #resin #Botany 🌾🧪🌱
