The bottom 2/3 of it is bare, but at the top are a number of brilliant scarlet flowers. The hummingbird is hovering just to the left of the red flowers. It is a female with a metallic green back and head and a white throat. The eye is black with a small white spot behind. The eye and the long beak are black. Its dark wings are spread open behind the bird. There is a little bit of black edging on the tail and white at the very end. In the background are a lot of blurred pink flowers and green leaves.
