A green heron stands on a small limb in a pond. The pond is covered with blue-green algae, so the surface is entirely green. The heron is looking off to the left. It has a long, pointed black beak and a bright yellow eye with a black pupil. The top of its head is a dark blue-grey color. Between the top of its head and the wings it is reddish-brown with a white patch under the chin and white on its belly.
