Labrador tea is a small evergreen shrub. It has white blossoms. Its leaves turn a bit reddish and have hairs on the underside. It makes a good medicinal tea. Don't boil it, though. Steep it in hot, not boiling water.
Caribou lichen. It's soft like moss, but bone white. Caribou love this stuff, and it can keep people alive, too. Not particularly tasty.
Arnica flower in bloom. The yellow blossom looks a bit like a small sunflower with a golden centre. This is the tallest flower I saw growing on Sadde Island.
Unbloomed arnica. The bud is white and looks like it's covered in cobwebs.

🇨🇦 (2/3) ❄️ 🧬 There’s so much to learn from Arctic plants — their unique adaptations, like flexible membranes and cryoprotective compounds, help them survive extreme freeze–thaw cycles and could inspire future innovations in medicine and biotechnology. ❄️🧬
