Jackey’s painting is of a round shallow bowl in warm tones, which has a single candle votive burning serenely at its center. Meandering, rippling colors flow around it on every side, in contrasting colors of orange and blue, in a vaguely neurographic style. The movement suggests water, or air, or perhaps thoughts, and the image is peaceful, for how lively the colors, flow, and textures of the piece. The style is kinetic, simple, and relaxed. Embrace your creative side tomorrow afternoon as Jackey Neyman Jones (“Debbie” from MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE) guides viewers in creating their own kitty in a window for an all-new Art Draws Us Together! Jackey’s painting is of a black kitty cat, sitting on a windowsill and looking out, with its back to the viewer, perhaps watching a pair of birds fly by in the sky outside. A light cream-colored curtain is draped open to the side. The window is arched, and has 4 panes, creating a grid pattern. The painting is in mostly muted earth tones and carries a serene, cozy vibe. Jackey’s painting style is in acrylic paint on canvas, of a simplistic, kinetic, and whimsical nature. Artists are encouraged to follow along with Jackey as she paints in real time, or to create their own works based on the theme, in the style of their choosing. At the conclusion of the session, artists are invited to email their pieces for an impromptu showing, if they choose to participate. Artists are also encouraged to submit their finished pieces to the host Dumb Industries website as a collection in the online gallery. My painting from the last online art session of ART DRAWS US TOGETHER, led by JACKEY NEYMAN JONES. It’s hung on my wall, above an old art deco credenza which I use as my cat feeding station. My walls are painted yellow. The old credenza is marred, flanked by 2 shabby chic grey velvet dining chairs. Atop it are glass vases in red and pink, plus a couple of vintage lamps, in the shape of two Siamese kitties, at one end, and a blackart deco figurine of a lady posed, holding voluminous fabric. Colorful placemats in primary colors of flower shapes rest under my cat’s water & dry kibble bowls, which are fancy cut glass in a dark blue and clear crystal, because I’m fancy like that. The painting itself is a large stretched canvas, 2’ x 3’ tall. A large, broken red heart floats in an amorphous blue background, with , leafy vines at the lower sides, appearing to hold it up, & more swirling vines at the top, lacing the broken parts of the heart back together. A white field surrounds the heart, representing healing light. The blue background has repeating lines, and an overlapping hatch pattern in blue and white. The vines are rendered in blue and white also. The heart is torn deeply, but not all the way through. The perspective is off, giving the heart a sort of lopsided, sideways impression. My kitchen counter, which is open to the next room. I put my Healing Heart canvas which I painted today in Jackey Neyman Jones’s online art class, ART DRAWS US TOGETHER. A tv on the counter shows MST3K episode Moon Zero Two, with the psychedelic dancing girls in yellow spandex and cowboy hats. The kitchen countertop is made of super dark blue small tiles, almost black. A red heart shaped vase and a red tray with some tchotchkes and fruit are next on the counter. The house is painted a warm sunny yellow with cream and yellow accent. In the far room there’s also a cat tree by the window.

My cartoony illustration based on the cult classic film, "Santo Vs. The Vampire Women", rendered in Graphite, Sharpie, and Metallic Sharpie, on watercolor paper. The image is of a buxom Vampire Woman, with Santo the heroic wrestler standing behind her, while 3 bats fly overhead. The woman is rendered in shades of blue, purple, pink, and silver, in contrast to Santo, who is rendered in yellow, pink, and orange, against a swirling psychedelic spiral background in shades of vivid yellow, pink, and orange. The bats are rendered in pink and red tones. Silver Sharpie outlines the figures, and the woman's hair. Dark blue lines give a comic-book sort of definition to the characters too. The style is simplistic and kinetic, and pretty silly. The angles and perspectives are a bit off, making the swirls and repeating lines disjointed. My painting of a simple nighttime landscape, of softly rolling hills with pine trees, dusted by snow, and reflecting bright moonlight. The sky is a blue, purple, and grey watercolor wash, with a large, looming full moon which takes up nearly half the page. Movement suggests rays coming off the moon in curved lines, echoed by stars, whose shapes have undefined edges. The landscape is rendered in blue, green, and yellow watercolor wash, but stippled with white to make it look snow-covered. The trees are rendered in purple, with white strokes overlaid to make them appear covered in snow too. The style is simplistic, impressionistic, and kinetic.
