I asked what to draw and she growled then trumpeted, her way to say “bear or elephant.” I asked what else- she said “bird!” I asked, “ Big Bird?” She shook her head no. Flamingo? No, she said. “Papa.”

A macro photograph of a small section of bright red jogging pants with paint on them. There are a mixture of splashes and intentional brush strokes done with green, yellow, and purple tempera paints. It's a bright, happy little mix of colour and playfulness.
We're still working on the whole "paint goes on the paper" concept.

Second outing for this photograph taken looking down on an art project my kid and I did many years ago aligning with their class topic at school. Yes I was that irritating mum that loved an 'art project' and fancy dress costume day challenge etc. Polystyrene spheres covered in different coloured tissue paper, sweet wrappers and printed with various textures. Each is accurately (I think) representative in colour of planet. Colours range from deep Ribena-purple, blues, greens, creams, fiery reds and oranges, and even a lilac. Photographed against a black worktop from a former house. Eventually they were strung on fishing wire to became a mobile of the planets.

Drei Ausmalbilder: 1. Stegosaurus, dessen Rücken-Schuppen in Form von Regenbögen sind. 2. Einhorn auf Wolke unter Sternenhimmel. 3. Kleiner, runder Roboter auf verschiedenen Maschinen.
Kind hält ein selbstgemaltes Ausmalbild so hoch, das sein Gesicht verdeckt ist. Auf dem Bild sieht man eine Eiswaffel mit 14 Eiskugeln. Links und rechts davon ist jeweils ein Eis am Stiel. Oben sind vier Herzen.
Für ein Projekt habe ich Ausmalbilder gemacht. Der Fünfjährige war dabei, hat zugesehen, Wünsche geäußert und fand irgendwann, dass er sein eigenes machen möchte.
Das war schon sehr schön.
