Btw I wouldn’t go to #TheBestChoice or #AsBeautifulAsYou for great romance: they are okay as family dramas with romance in the background, but it’s not electric or chemical like in the other shows mentioned

#SheAndHerPerfectHusband is a bit better, but the chemistry with the FL isn’t perfect either

I think this may be so, but the issue for me with Xu Kai is that the role didn’t suit him very well. He was too restrained - just as he was in #AsBeautifulAsYou. Yang Zi was good, but I wonder how many viewers could enjoy the romance while getting to grips with the crazy mother!?

This made me think what other modern cdramas came out in 2024 that I enjoyed.
