CC4.0 .. --- Text 19.JHD "In Aschersleben gibt es 2 Evangelische Lutheraner, von denen einer reformiert ist. und eine katholische Kirche, eine Synagoge, eine höhere Realschule, ein Armenhaus und 3 Krankenhäuser. Aschersleben zeichnet sich durch Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau, Tuchherstellung (#Flanell und Decken), Leinenfabriken und Färbereien sowie Fabriken aus: Zucker, Knochendarren, Papier, Maschinenbau, Eisen und Zinn, Ziegel, Bier usw. All diese Industrie wird durch die Braunkohleminen verursacht. In jüngster Zeit wurden in der Nähe von Österreich bedeutende Steinsalzvorkommen entdeckt, die von einer deutsch-britischen Aktiengesellschaft erworben wurden. Auch der Exporthandel mit Brot und Kartoffeln ist von großer Bedeutung. Es gibt eine Filzmühle und eine Getreidemühle. Zuerst war sie die Hauptstadt von Askania, kam aber 1382 in den Besitz des Bistums Halberstadt und 1618 in den Besitz Brandenburgs. und so weiter"
