A red fruit still on the tree. It is red but it becomes a darker red when ripe like a burgundy purplish red. The fruit resembles a dragon egg with spiky ends. It is considered a rare tropical fruit and some of the species in its family are threatened and on the endangered list.

Here’s the only dragon egg that survived the season. Will leave it to ripen on the tree for a few more days, hopefully that’s enough time to become sweeter since this specific hybrid tends to be on the bland side tasting just like unsweetened coconut yogurt.
