A day of mixed blessings on yesterdays audax, didn't complete the audax route as I missed 2 controls (one accidentally) but got back my own way after a brutal headwind for most of the route to the point I returned 🌬🌧🌧😩 #cycling #audax #BarrysBristolBash
Back at ride control, but the audax despite me doing 110km today is a DNF. The headwind and the cold drizzly rain coming back was energy sapping.

Annoyingly, one of the rear mudguard bolts let go and I had to do a running repair. Never leave home without zip ties and an Ikea ziplock bag! 😀

10/10 Finish control at the Holly Bush Inn and arrived at 18:35 after a latish start of 8:10.
My fastest 100km is under 8 hrs but given the extra 20km, climbing and extra stops, I'll happily except 10 hr 30 min 👍

9/10 Joined the Two Tunnels cycle route at Midford and caught the sunset just as I was crossing the river Avon in Bath, then it was back up the railway path to Warmley as the daylight faded 🌅🚴♂️ #cycling #audax #willshills
8/10 a different diversion, this time to avoid a gravelly section of railway path, brought me to Norton St Philip. A place I've only ever previously seen at night on the Exmouth Exodus & final stop before for a little pick-me-up 😋 ##cycling #audax #willshills

5/10 Pilton Hill was one that was simply swapping one hill for another, Pilton co-op was the first control. Pyle church was the biggest hill diversion that added an extra 5km but was a much faster route & Greggs in Bruton served as a quick 1pm lunch stop 🍕🍩😋 #cycling #audax #willshills

I will add, I have my usual optimistic listings, the Old Roads and Waltham Wander 300s, Brevet Cymru and Back to the smoke 400s, the Exe Buzzard 600 and even this years Inverness 1200.
But whether any of it will happen is anyone's guess 🤷♂️
