The central island is quite a juxtaposition in itself. The central portion is under extreme growth pressure with limited space, pushing the construction of more and more highrises, while the north tip is mostly single family homes and the southern tip is completely undeveloped.

Most single-family houses are gone and replaced with mid- and highrise buildings accomodating a lot more people than before. The lakeshore has also been straightened in places, reclaiming a bit of land that also houses further developments.

The south-eastern tip of the main island is densifying in response to now being close to the university & adjacent district.

This area now sits between the city center and the university, making it a lot more attractive than it was before.

The university is surrounded by some other education and research institutions as well as a lot of offices. The mostly low density offices are dominated by a single, large media office tower. Student dorms can be seen in the bottom right of the image, with some farms separating the dorms from the uni proper. Behind the university district a new, medium density residential and commercial district can be seen, connecting the university district to the city center.

New highway connection! This one will relieve traffic pressure from the city center by providing a way around the city and will also provide access to the planned future university district :)

A screenshot of my Cities: Skylines 2 city Aurora Springs. A tram depot can be seen from a bird's eye view. The access street crosses in front of its parking lot, but before it reaches the tram access point, it curves away from the depot at a 45° angle. It connects to a main street, which itself is 90° to the access street. The tram line connects from the depot's connection point in a curve to this main street, bypassing the access street completely.

In front of the depot, a fire station can be seen at the intersection between the main street and the access street, while a small parking lot is situated between the access street, the main street and the tram access track.

Been playing Cities: Skylines 2 again the past few days, so to celebrate I give you ...an old screenshot xD

This is a tram depot I built a while ago. I love how having the street not just go straight in front of it creates this really interesting look :)

Finally picked up this little mess of a game again after I was a bit distracted by building a beaver city ;)

For all its faults Cities: Skylines 2 is still really fun to play, and I hope @colossalorder.fi will continue improving it.

Now, time to build a city!

See that powerline that runs through the center of the city? Because no high buildings can be built below it, it creates this sort of "trench" in the cityscape.

My plan is to eventually remove that powerline and use the trench for an elevated metro line :)

A screenshot of my Cities: Skylines 2 city Aurora Springs. This is a closer bird's eye shot showing the city's first hospiral and surrounding developments, consisting of medium to high density office and residential buildings as well as some commercial spaces.

There are even some farms still on the island, although those are also slowly being replaced by urban developments.
This hospital and surrounding office and residential spaces for example have revently replaced a farm.

The image shows the early planning stages of a new industrial area, including the beginnings of the street layout, a geothermal power plant and a train station branching off from the main line, which is cuttong along the side of the new industrial area.

Aurora Springs Update: When I updated the city to the new CS2 version, unemployment grew to 16% (also in part due to the city growing beyond 100k \o/). To remedy this problem, I now decided to build a new industrial area in the north. Here's the early planning phase :)
