Yes. "communist" is too strong - it conjures up visions of Cuban government grocery stores, etc. But there does need to be a term for 'left of socialism' when needed that doesn't go all the way to that. Suggestions?

In our resource riding (Cons/NPD) our NDP MP is going to face a barrage of Avi-inspired hit pieces in this close situation it will be highly likely to cost the riding. That's the hands-on risk out west. Maybe they pick up enough in a college-latte city back east, I don't know.

Yes, there is no PP as prime minister IN SPITE OF the NDP vote splitting. There's a hierarchy of goals in anything and #1 is not having the current Cons in power, if that can be assured then I'm fine with NDP rump ( we have NDP member here who we support in a Con/NDP riding).

I think you misread the headlines. Avi won. "bringing people together" is not in his repertoire, it's pure "my way or the hwy." Why the vanishing fed NDP couldn't take notes from the successful western provinces NDP is baffling. Losers should listen, not lecture.

The western provinces NDP are winners ( ruling or opposition). The dissolving fed NDP should be taking advice not giving it on the "winners help losers become winners" method. Avi is here to fulfil HIS dream and being in NDP is just a genetic fluke.
