The crest of I-80 at Donner Summit. The forest is sparse, scattered among huge boulders. The sky is clear and, in the distance, snow can still be seen on the mountainside. This is significant for me because it was my first time on that road. As an acrophobe who is phobic about mountain roads, I was nervous about the route. But I figured that, since it's an Interstate, there wouldn't be any windy roads along cliffs. I was mostly correct. In any case, I knew I had to document my being on that road, in that spot or nobody would believe it.
