Why do you think he wants his face on #coins?

Wait for him to suggest embedding his voice into #banknotes, “to benefit the #VisuallyImpaired” - a group that would usually annoy him, as #DEI beneficiaries, but here he sees an opportunity to create a #legacy.

2025: #BankofEngland (BoE) printed 4,728,795,124 #BankNotes costing approx. £426 million.
#UKGovernment (#TaxPayer) paid BoE the face value of the notes; £85,872 million (bankofengland.co.uk).
Why does UK Govt. pay a private company (BoE) 170 times the cost of printing it used to do itself?

It is against the spirit of the law for a living president to appear on currency - and bad luck, surely?
"To avoid the appearance of a monarchy, it was long-standing tradition to only feature portraits of deceased individuals on currency and coin."

I think the badger needs to be up there too- considering everything it’s been through. #banknotes and why not a raptor or two…

Never mind badgers on #banknotes, I'm going to start a petition to rename the #straitofhormuz the Elbow of Hormuz. Much more apt for its actual shape I think 🤪

A Norwegian Blue parrot should appear on a fiver. It would embrace the majority of people's wish to have #nature represented, and would include #culture at the same time.

I think Bananarama should be on the fiver, Pet Shop Boys on the tenner, New Order on the score, and Chrissie Hynde on the bullseye.

Not perfect, but is it not possible to have people AND nature?

'Bank England' needs an 'of', and I love the idea of putting 'Fiver' and 'Tenner' on the £5 and £10 notes respectively! 😂

A collective of design agencies from Scotland’s creative industries scene has played a central role in the Royal Bank of Scotland’s pioneering “The People’s Money” bank notes, with the first in the ‘Fabric of Nature’ series being the £5 note released in 2016 and culminating with the £20 note in 2020. Design consultancy Nile, O Street, Stuco Design and Timorous Beasties are the main agencies to have supported the creative design process for Royal Bank of Scotland, while almost 30 different designers have been involved to date. Timorous Beasties were tasked with illustrating elements of the Scottish natural world; Otters, mackerel, red squirrels and, of course, midgies.

I vote for the only bird in England to visually represent the #State of English wildlife; hung-over, pissed-off, stressed, annoyed, disturbed, and wishing very much it wasn't being looked at: The Stone Curlew.

I’m looking at you, Bank of England.

And in other views, yes, I’d vote for Bagpuss on a £50 note

I’m all in favour on animals on #banknotes due to the slang opportunities it opens up. You could borrow a ‘badger’, lend an ‘owl’, donate a ‘squirrel’….
