Walk in a different wood today, following details from one of our CPRs. Green Hellebore just about hanging in with a few flowers but nearly over. Helleborus viridis subsp occidentalis. #bsbibotany.

A bunch of currant flowers. Yellow-green flushed red.

The white flowers of Bird Cherry.

Gooseberry flower below a spine covered branch. The flowers tinged red. The future gooseberry behind.

A blue pyramid of flowers of a garden throw out. Probably a Scilla species.

Also, in the same wood. Red Currant, Bird Cherry, Gooseberry and a Scilla of some sort, presumably a garden throw out. #bsbibotany.

Coralroot Bittercress. Cardamine bulbifera. A dense patch of plants.

A bulbil in the leaf axil. They plants spread from these bulbs. Looking almost like a small purple plum.

A deep coloured flower, purple petals surrounding yellow anthers.

A lighter flower colour, pinkish. Several flowers surrounding tightly closed buds in the centre at the top of the plant.

A walk in the woods near Watford today where hundreds of Coralroot Bittercress are coming up. Very few in flower yet, but in a week they will be spectacular. #bsbibotany.
