My mum pretending to give me a 5 star review that begins "A brilliant read. Trust me, you won't guess how it ends." Spoiler: it ends with me begging for more reviews, cos I'm pathetically needy.
This time, my mum has pretended to be three people, each giving 5 star reviews. "Fantastic!" she says. "This book is extraordinary". "Thoroughly recommend this book." Give it a rest, Mum. These people see right through you.
"I read a lot of this genre and can honestly say this is one of my favourite books of the year", says my mum, in the guise of somebody on Amazon. She's quite mad. She also says "This book was a ridiculously good read and a more assured debut novel, I have yet to read". Off her meds. She should be pitied, not mocked. And definitely - and I've confirmed this with her care home staff - definitely not tied to a wooden raft and pushed out to sea. That's been made very clear to me. In front of witnesses.
My mum is now pretending to be called Kate R, and says "A spectacularly satisfying thriller. Russell is a master of descriptive prose and storytelling." In truth, I'm a Jedi Master. But don't tell my mum. She gets upset when I bugger about with my light saver. Yes, light saver, not sabre. I'm trying to be green. Anyway, here are three more pathetic attempts by my mum to give me 5 star reviews. She's done it hundreds of times. Maybe you should read the book to find out why. Or better still, BUY the book, and then read it. That would be lovely. Nobody ever reads this shit, so I can say what I want about my mum. But you can't, or she'll bite you. Teeth like Ken Dodd.
