At the #BattleOfTrenton the Continental Army, led by General George Washington, defeated an army of Hessian soldiers. They crossed the ice covered #DelawareRiver. At night. On Christmas. The only American casualties were from frostbite: two men who made the 9 mile march barefoot.

Having crossed successfully, they proceeded to engage and defeat the Hessian troops encamped in Trenton under the command of Johann Rall.
