Amongst the many different Ground Beetles is a genus called Poecilus which stands out through their metallic colours. There are 4 different species in the UK which look very similar.

The Springtail-stalker , Notiophilus sp ,is a type of ground beetle which hunts springtails in the leaf litter and moss. There are 8 species which look all very similar. We also found a larva which we think is a Notiophilus larva. #WildlifeUK , #NatureUK , #InvertebratesUK , #InsectsUK , #BeetlesUK
