A Lacewing insect on a cream coloured wall. Brown body and lacy wings. Some shadows being its evening and in electric light. Long antenna splayed out. 6 legs and bulging eyes.

Is this a Lacewing? I thought they were green. This one is brown.
Beautiful creature about 1cm long body. It’s long antenna splay out nearly as long as its body.
There are shadows as it’s in electric light on a cream wall.

Amongst the many different Ground Beetles is a genus called Poecilus which stands out through their metallic colours. There are 4 different species in the UK which look very similar.

The Springtail-stalker , Notiophilus sp ,is a type of ground beetle which hunts springtails in the leaf litter and moss. There are 8 species which look all very similar.
