Such a beautiful, delicate lacewing, seen in early February in the Perth Hills. I think is one of the Beaded Lacewings (Family Berothidae) but I'm not sure of the species.

A really shitty picture of my black wild-caught bold jumping spider (phiddipus audax), about pinky nail sized, holding and eating a yellowish lacewing. He sits on top of a pink 3D printed tamagatchi hide, as if that's how it's supposed to be used.

Another angle, slightly closer, you can see his dark silhouette better now.

Female Chrysoperla carnea (probably) or Chrsyoperla pallida (possibly, but very much less likely).

These are green lacewings that turn brown in winter. This one isn’t fully brief but the green colour is dull and there are brown patches on the tergites (along the top of the abdomen).

My first #lacewing of the year, and an excuse to try out the camera on my new phone. It’s either Chrysoperla carnea or Chrysoperla pallida. Females of these two species can’t be told apart but based on my records of males here it’s several hundred times more likely to be carnea.

Psychopsis mimica

An unusual visitor to our Perth Hills garden moth light last night... not a moth but one of the Silky Lacewings.

First time seeing one of these beauties! It was quite sizeable, about 2cm in length.

In my home just now.
Is this a Lacewing? I thought they were green. This one is brown.
Beautiful creature about 1cm long body. It’s long antenna splay out nearly as long as its body.
There are shadows as it’s in electric light on a cream wall.

This small lacewing was a more unusual visitor to the garden light recently. Identified on #inaturalist as Carobius pulchellus, a member of the Brown Lacewing family (Hemerobiidae). This is just the 3rd observation of this species in WA

the head and a couple legs of a larval insect, the rest of the body is obscured by goldenrod flowers. it's a green lacewing, Chrysoperla rufilabris.

if you're an american and you use iNaturalist to ID a lacewing larva it will probably suggest this species... every day i correct multiple observations mis-IDed to this - many of which aren't even in the same family.

A single, delicate green lacewing egg balances at the end of a long, slender, translucent filament that arcs upward from the curling tip of a green leaf. The egg is minuscule and translucent white, hovering like a tiny teardrop above the vibrant, velvet-textured leaf. The leaf itself is covered in fine hairs and edged with a thin line of rust-red coloration, its surface undulating in soft waves like a cresting ocean. The background is a deep, smooth green, rendering the egg and leaf in sharp contrast and giving the image a serene, almost surreal atmosphere. The image captures an intimate, nearly invisible moment in nature with extraordinary clarity and composition — emphasizing the fragility, elegance, and strangeness of life at a microscopic scale.

march, disrupt, defy.

Closeup picture of a zinnia blossom that nearly fills the frame. The petals are varying shades of pale pink. The center is darker pink and kind of hairy looking. Surrounding the center are tiny pale green petals still unfurled and deep yellow strands interspersed. Near the top of the blossom is a green lacewing insect in a vertical position. The very top of the picture captures the bright green leaves of the zinnia.

#Lacewing larva today in Plymouth. Not able to ID any further. Apparently they are voracious. The legs look much more "normal for insects" than, e.g., Butterfly larvae.
