I'd say one reason because when you hire one that *isn't* at a bay (& ride it back to a bay) you get 5 min #BerylBikes credit (worth up to 90p 🙂). Most cities in the UK outside #London only have 1 operator (apart from #Oxford for now). See bikesharemap.com/country/uk/#...

It's *very* different with #BerylBikes in #Brighton (& other cities) compared to London where floating #Bikeshare has caused issues. Here most are left at bays as there's a £5 charge if left anywhere else in the zone. But if does get worse there's the option of putting charge up to £10 like Norwich.
