That I read this as “Allium cernuum” 3 times caused me to look up “cernuum” - & of course it does mean “nodding” or “drooping,” from Latin “cernuus,” “with the face turned toward the earth, inclined forwards, stooping or bowing forwards.” (Wiktionary)
