An exquisitely beautiful winter's day on the River Lark at Jubilee Fields, Mildenhall, but the Mute Swans, Mallards & Black-head Gulls were disappointed that I brought them no food.
Still, I did do something for them...

Up on #MountRoyal American Crows stomp among the graves, as European Starlings twitter from tree tops to the moon. Down below in @Montreal city, hungry House Sparrows & feral Rock Doves, puffed up against the cold, gather frantically at food sources. #BirdsSeenIn2022 #Canada 8/10

Time for a breather from @CBD_COP15 hurly burly? Head up to 1297 Foret Rd, #MountRoyalCemetery & witness spectacular gathering of American Robins drinking at stream. Lower left is a ♀️ & the brighter bird on right is a ♂️. #mtroyalmoment #mtroyal #mtlmoments #BirdsSeenIn2022 6/10

American Goldfinch & Pine Siskin (in the Sumac tree) are also common at #MountRoyalCemetery but only saw the 1 Common Redpoll drinking at the stream. Plenty of lovely Slate-coloured Juncos on the ground.

6 woodpecker species can be seen now at #MountRoyalCemetery @Montreal. On the feeder at 1297 Foret Rd is the smaller Downy next to larger Hairy Woodpecker (+ House Finch). Less common, a Northern Flicker. White-breasted & Northern Cardinal both easy to see. #BirdsSeenIn2022 3/10

And indeed, here's a Pileated Woodpecker eating grubs. Amazingly common & tame in Mount Royal Cemetery @Montreal. A birding paradise after days stuck in negotiations #ForNature @UNBiodiversity #COP15. These birds remind us what @CBD_COP15's for. #BirdsSeenIn2022 #Montreal 2/10

At Namdong Reservoir, Songdo, Black-faced Spoonbill's have colonised 2 nesting islands provided for them. Here they're dozing with Little Egrets while a Eurasian Spoonbill dines with a Common Teal. Ruddy Shelduck swims by & Common Shelducks busily upend. #BirdsSeenIn2022 17/18

On Ganghwa Island, the Greater White-fronted Geese forage the rice paddies for spilt grain, among the bales of straw, in enviable harmony compared to geese on farmland in western lands. Off the N tip, a few 100 Swan Geese bob on the waters of the getbol. #BirdsSeenIn2022 15/18

On Ganghwado's wooded Yellow Sea shores a long-tailed-tit-like flock of one of the cutest birds on the planet - Vinous Throated Parrotbill, as Great-spotted Woodpeckers drummed & Japanese Tit & Brown-eared Bulbul flitted among the bushes.

There in S Ganghwa, a Red-crowned Crane pair were out on the Getbol as Upland Buzzards soared overhead. At the N end of the island, a White-tailed Eagle flew over, while an Oriental Turtle Dove perched obliviously on the defensive wires overlooking DPRK. #BirdsSeenIn2022
