Every day with students presents the adults with an opportunity to have positive impact. Focus on your connections with students who struggle. Focus on the missing skill and how to teach and practice that skill. Continue to be amazing!! #BISTon #AllinCARE @OurCornerstones
Spring has sprung and the sprint to the end of the school year is on. In the sprint, bring clarity to boundaries on a frequent basis, lead with empathy and kindness, provide personal predictability, and consider how to transition relationships. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
What an awesome day in Troy MI School District. Love the engagement and commitment of teachers to ensure students succeed! #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Early intervention: stop the behavior when you see it don’t wait until you feel it. By addressing behaviors early, adults are less likely to use emotion in the redirect and are able to communicate to students “You are worthy of success.” #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
3 building equalizers: 1. Early intervention=one verbal redirect then take action. Don’t let students continue to be out of bounds. 2. Common language=redirect students in a manner that reduces resistance. 3. Processing =problem solving to learn and grow. #BISTon @OurCornerstones
This week keep doing or increase skill based coaching with a student. This feels mundane for the adult but helps increase rote muscle memory for the student. It also allows the student to receive positive interactions with an adult. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Creating resilience as a community is hinged on connection. How are you taking care of and supporting your colleagues? To effectively support students who struggle the adults must be like minded and must work as a team not in isolation. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Review student plans regularly. Ensure that contribution is in place when needed. Teaching and practicing skills for mastery is critical. Develop gradual release plans for protections so students can demonstrate success in different areas. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Resilience is important in February. Adults are tired from what feels like lack of student progress. Remember to build your team in a manner that creates colleague support. Also remember that transformational change is slow. Stay strong! #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones

Reflect on how you are redirecting students. Does your approach increase or reduce resistance? Be quick, kind, calm, firm and get to kids when redirecting. A student may not respond positively, but we can ensure we are not part of the problem. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
What an incredible day with Gering Public Schools in Nebraska. Love the commitment to helping student succeed!
#BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
When students are partnering, have them start coaching other students. They should coach on the skill they are missing. This allows for internalization. Additionally, having students coach students increases ownership and significance! #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
This week reflect on early intervention. One verbal redirect then take action. This allows teachers to reclaim classrooms for teaching and learning. This also builds adult credibility,, “If I say it, I mean it. If I mean it I say it.” #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
It’s 2026! Let’s make the remainder of the school year one of courage, compassion and gratitude. YOU have the opportunity to positively impact student lives! YOU are the reason! #bethechange #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Happiness is working with a team that learns together, has fun together and gets to have positive impact while doing it! Happy Holidays to the entire BIST Team! #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
To educators everywhere—you are amazing! Keep doing the hard, heart work! What you do matters. Rest over the holidays and come back in 2026 to be the difference maker! #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Right now students need the adults to be unconditional, predictable, and kind. Be unconditional by leaning into the relationship. Be predictable with structures and routines. Be kind in all interactions. Every student is worthy of success! #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
This week be visible and intentional as students arrive on school grounds. Reconnect your relationship, reteach procedures and routines, demand that students meet high expectations. This will help reduce worry to create a calmer learning environment. #BISTon @OurCornerstones
5 Cs for your culture in the holiday season: Calm—model what you want back, Connection—critical for wellbeing, Communication—over communicate this time of year, Celebration—celebrate your staff and students, Compassion—listen with kindness. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones

Adult perseverance and resilience through the holiday season is critical to maintain a calm, predictable school culture. Adults stay kind and connected to each other. The work you do with students on a daily basis is important heart work. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Lean into the relationship! Students must know they can’t be bad enough to get rid of us. When students reject, the adults must see this as a missing skill and extend a partnership to help guide students to more frequent success. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Predictability is part of an unconditional relationship. It falls into 3 areas: 1. Community—common actions among the adults. 2. Logistical—procedures and routines. 3. Personal—my mood does not determine how I interact with you. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Connection is critical! By greeting students at the door by name on a daily basis you can increase engagement and decrease disruption. Be sure to intentionally assess and address student emotion in order to protect the learning environment. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
Boundaries provide emotional safety for students which helps reduce worry. Boundaries fall under: 1. It’s never ok to be disruptive to learning, it’s always ok to be a good learner, 2. It’s never ok to be hurtful, it’s always ok to be kind. #BISTon #AllInCARE @OurCornerstones
