Garden scene on the last day of autumn with purple and magenta asters, blue-green baptisia foliage, and purple-gold Miscanthus purple flame grass. In the background is an ash tree that is stressed by the dry weather and not changing to its normal purple shade before dropping leaves.

This variety is called September Ruby and is a dramatic and exuberant variety. It's a deep magenta shade that really pops.
And my absolute favourite is ‘Alma Potschke’, which is about the colour of Pepto Bismol or pink peppermints. It's growing with Black Hawks big bluestem, a deep burgundy almost black tall perennial grass.
