As a kid I was obsessed with Psittacosaurus. I think it was a way of foreshadowing my obsession with birds.

Microraptor is basically the closest thing we have to a dragon in my mind and it’s a little tiny guy who probably would steal fries from you at the beach if he was alive today. Maybe more fantasy writers need to make crow-like dragons…

This is the only #Borealopelta markmitchelli specimen in the world. Discovered in 2011, the species was named after technician Mark Mitchel, who spent over 6 years skillfully preparing the #fossil for study.

A top view of a very round fluffy 3d model of a Borealopelta dinosaur plushie in a quite realistic style. All the images are screenshots from different perspectives of the model. It has brilliant plastic black eyes, two cute pink marks under its eyes like a cute blush. White colored soft belly with simple stubby legs who have a warm brown tone on the soles. No claws at all. The top of its head, beak and the spots on his back are an unsaturated dark blueish tone, almost black in some zones, that thansition to a warm beautiful brown that meets the underbelly and covers the sides of its face. Thre uneven stripes envelop the tip of its tail. Borealopeltas are quadruped wide armored dinosaurs, this friendly cute version has the same spikes on its neck that follow its head making some sort of serrated vague arrowhead shape but they're a bit rounder. The animal almost reminds a bit of a cute cow.

Researchers look a dinosaur in its remarkably preserved face Washed out to sea, a giant beast and its armored skin were left in pristine condition.

Stomach contents in #Borealopelta show that it ate fern leaves, burnt plant fragments & woody stems. The cross-section of one particular stem had growth rings indicating late spring to mid-summer = when the animal died. #FossilFriday
